Sean Blaise President and CEO
Sean Blaise grew up in Miami, Fl for the first 12 years of his life. Together with his brother and parents he lived aboard a 30 foot sailboat since he was six months old. This is where his love of boating began. For the next 6 years of his life he spent 2 and a half years in Bangkok, Thailand, 2 years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and another post grad year in Weimar, Germany.
In 2001 Sean Blaise began his college career at the prestigious Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. After 2 years of training Sean decided to get some real life experience by taking a year sabbatical. He traveled to Key West, Florida and at the young age of 20 became the 1st Officer of the 140 Schooner America. After working for a year on the America, Sean traveled to Newport, R.I. and spent another 5 months sailing on the 12 Meter "Northern Light" as its 1st Officer.
In 2004 Sean returned to complete his degree at Maine Maritime. Sean graduated from Maine Maritime in 2006 with honors for his class. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and obtained his 500 Ton All Oceans Mate ticket. Following his graduation Sean has captained numerous vessels, including, 110 fast ferries, two 75 schooners, 75 foot motor yachts and numerous deliveries including a one month stint in the South Pacific delivering a 150 Delta motor yacht from Fiji to Tahiti via the Kingdom Of Tonga as Second Captain. Sean currently functions as Chief Officer on a 42 meter motoryacht.
Sean currently holds his 500 Ton Master All Oceans ticket with Aux Sail endorsement.
Sean along with his brother Ian started Yacht Circle Inc. in 2007 to meet what they saw as a growing need for a high volume low priced yacht placement service. They felt that the current placement agencies were failing crewmembers and owners alike by charging huge placement feels with little or no service. Together the brothers came up with the ideas for YachtCircle.com. They have put their experience together to develop a system of placement unmatched in todays market. Furthermore, they decided to fill another gaping need in the industry by creating the first professional mariner social networking website. Having personal friends spread out all over the world is a fact of life in the Yacht Industry. However, with YachtCircle.com crewmembers can keep track and update their far flung friends as well as make new ones all over the world.
Ian Blaise: Vice President and Operations Director
Ian Blaise was born in New Orleans in 1981. Together with his brother Sean he grew up on a 30 foot sailboat in Coconut Grove, Fl. This started a lifelong journey and a passion for all things on the water.
He attended the well known New World School of the Arts for the first few years of his high school career. He finished up his high school along with his brother at Dar Al Fikr Schools in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where both his parents were teachers. After graduation Ian immediately attended his first college choice Maine Maritime Academy. After completing his two year degree at Maine Maritime Ian went to Florida State University to pursue a civil engineering degree. After two years Ian returned to Maine Maritime Academy in order to complete his four year degree. He also graduated with his brother in 2006 with honors.
Ian and Sean have worked professionally together on numerous occasions and on various different vessels. Together they have built a well known and respected name for themselves in the yachting industry. With their contacts in the industry and with the maritime academies Sean and Ian hope to create an online system that will revolutionize the way professional mariners find work. Sean and Ian are professional mariners themselves and as such they realize how the industry works and how it can be improved for both owners and the crewmembers alike.
